Job 22:1 – 24:15

January 18, 2011

Job 23:10-12 - "But God knows the way that I take, and when he has tested me, I will come out like gold. My feet have closely followed his steps; I have stayed in his way; I did not turn aside. I have never left the commands he has spoken; I have treasured his words more than my own."

Life Lesson:
"We must come back to the truth that while God is in absolute control of all life, He is not the cause of all life's mishaps. Rather, His plan allows those mishaps for the great purpose of raising up "many brethren conformed to the image of Christ"... what we think is best and what He does are as different as whipped cream and concrete. We think He'll make us happy. In effect, we envision these warm, fuzzy feelings. But He plans to make us holy... it is through gaining God's perspective that we begin to see true wisdom." ~ From When God Seems Far Away by Mark R. Littleton

Addendum: 12/3/14 ~ "My feet have closely followed his steps; I have stayed in his way; I did not turn aside." Job started out by saying his thoughts in present tense and future tense. God knows.  I will be vindicated. Then he goes on to state his case in past tense.

God knows our hearts. We can trust him to judge fairly. We are: Walking and following HIM on His Footpath. Past. Present. Future. That is how I want to live my life and how I want my life to be known.
