God's anger will be revealed. The people will wear themselves out trying to do everything in their own power. But the end result will be that they are worn out, they will gain nothing. God always wants to restore His people. In the past they worshiped Baal, a god of prosperity and wealth. They swore by his name. But God says, "If they will learn to swear by my name, saying, 'As surely as the LORD lives...' I will allow them to rebuild among my people. But if (they) will not listen to my message, I will pull (them) up completely and destroy (them)," says the LORD.
God wants to extend grace. He wants to restore. He wants to rebuild. He wants people to repent. He will do a multitude of things to try and bring that about. Consequences. Lessons. Discipline. Punishment. Situations. Encounters. Anything and everything to get His message to you. Repent! Obey me! But, there is one thing He cannot and will not do. His sovereignty does not allow Him to repent for us. He has done everything else. EVERYTHING! But we are the only ones who can repent → seek forgiveness → and obey. It's up to you. It's up to me. No one else can do it for us, not even God. We are responsible for our choices and consequences. Blessings—verses—Curses. Life—verses—Death. Heaven—verses—Hell.
God has done His part. Now it's our turn. What's it going to be? What are you going to do?
"As for me and my family, we will serve the LORD." (Joshua 24:15)
