Jeremiah 50:29–32 - God's message to Babylon whose people were arrogant and proud. Up until this point the people of Babylon seemed to have all the power to do whatever they wanted at will. They did not understand. It was not their skill, expertise, or intellect that made them "successful" in whatever they did. No, it was God using them to bring about His will.
Jeremiah 51:20 - "You are my war club, my battle weapon." Then it goes on to say, "I use you...," ten different times. Jeremiah 51:24–25 - "But I will pay back... I am against you."
What a sobering thought. Not only does God "use" those who have surrendered their hearts to accomplish His will for HIS honor and glory; He also "uses" those who have refused to surrender their hearts and lives to accomplish HIS will and to bring about their destruction. The words of Psalm 8 come to my mind:
God tells Jeremiah to speak "the whole message." Tell the whole truth. Tell them what God says. The time is coming. The time is coming when Babylon, strong and mighty Babylon, will be destroyed. It will happen. It didn't happen overnight, the Israelites were held captive for 70 years. But God told them as they went into captivity what the end result would be, you will be freed, and Babylon will be destroyed.
70 years... a long time. The LORD says, "At that time the people of Israel and Judah will come together. They will cry and look for the LORD their God." Look! You have to seek out the LORD and His will. That means a couple of things: Next Entry:

"O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth. You set your glory above the heavens. From the lips of children and infants you have ordained praise because of the enemy, to silence the foe and the avenger. When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and stars which you have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him?"What is man? Who is God? Our understanding of God is so small! What makes us think as "man" we have wisdom, power, or understanding? What makes us think we can not only control our own lives but those around us as well? We are nothing! He is everything! "O LORD, our Lord, How majestic is your name in all the earth..." Lord, I surrender to your throne, I will make my heart your home, I surrender to your throne.

- God is God and you are not;
- God is in control and you are not; and
- God is on the throne and our job is to surrender.
