I've combined chapters 7 and 8. They are both about dreams (prophecy) Daniel had during the reign of Belshazzar. This was before King Darius and the lions den. Daniel was seeing visions of the end times. Jane's (Her Name Was Jane) KJV Scofield version gives in depth descriptions and explanations of these meanings. Many of the verses in these chapters are identical to verses found in Revelations. I like what Max Lucado says in his book When Christ Comes.

"For the Christian, the return of Christ is not a riddle to be solved or a code to be broken, but rather a day to be anticipated."A simple overview of these chapters:
- There is a God
- He is in control
- Jesus has been given authority, strength, and glory
- Every tribe, nation, and language will someday serve Him
- His kingdom will last forever and never end
- He is the judge
When there is a turning away from God:
- There is no truth (Daniel 8:12)
- There are lies (Daniel 8:25)
- There is the use of force (Daniel 8:25)
- There is arrogance and worship of self (Daniel 8:25)
Next Entry: Daniel 9:1–27
