Sunday morning came. Yesterday we celebrated the resurrection of our Lord and Savior. I Corinthians 15 talks about the Good News of Christ. I Corinthians 15:2 - "You are being saved by it if you continue believing what I told you. If you do not then you believed for nothing." We will continue to believe, not only in God's salvation power, but also in the promises He has given us.
Our Pastor spoke yesterday about following Jesus to—LIFE. Jesus wants to move people from Death to Life, and He does that one person at a time. Christ isn't concerned with how many days we live. He is most concerned with HOW we lived our days. Then our Pastor pointed out three truths:
Our hope is in the LORD, for this life AND for eternity. Death came because of what one man (Adam) did. Life came because of what one man (Jesus) did. Paul admonished the people in Corinth to not stop believing in the raising of the dead. I Corinthians 15:33 - "Bad friends will ruin good habits." Don't be fooled. I Corinthians 33:34 - "Come back to your right way of thinking and stop sinning. Some of you do not know God – I say this to shame you." Sin and death have NO power over us. Christ has won the victory. I Corinthians 33:57–58 - "But we thank God! He gives us victory through our Lord Jesus Christ... stand strong. Do not let anything change you... give yourselves fully to the work... (it) is never wasted."
Our spirits are quieted this morning. As I was in the shower this morning, God reminded me of this truth: We are not waiting on a judge. We are waiting on the LORD!!! It's amazing how God renews your strength when you obey His word and keep putting one foot in front of the other in obedience to Him. Any "angst" we felt—is gone! This is not our problem to handle—it is His. He will give us whatever we need to faithfully complete this path that HE has us on. And we are willing to let go—and let God. Praise the Lord!
