Mark 13:1–37

August 17, 2012

"Always be ready... always be ready... always be ready... be ready!" (Mark 13:32–36)
"Every person will have to die one day and after that the judgment—everyone, whether he wants it or not." ~ From Not I but Christ by Corrie ten Boom
Mark 13 talks about the end times and the return of Christ. No one knows the day and time, but like a fig tree that buds out in the spring, we can know the season. I've already written about the end times and the return of Christ here: End Time Prophecy 101. We are to keep the faith until the end. Mark 13:10 - "But before these things happen, the Good News must be told to all people."

The next verse (Mark 13:11) has great meaning for us. (See my journal entries for Job 6 and Matthew 10. But today, as part of the New Beginning, it has taken on a whole new meaning. "When you are arrested and judged, don't worry ahead of time about what you should say.  Say whatever is given you to say at that time, because it will not really be you speaking; it will be the Holy Spirit." (Emphasis mine)

Wow! A whole new meaning for the NEW BEGINNING. We are the recipients of a Blessed Event.  (Let me pause to say that makes me smile! What a paradigm shift of thinking. We are not the victims of a vicious and vile lawsuit! We are the recipients of a Blessed Event!!) We have a God-given role to play; we will use our God-given talents and abilities to fulfill those roles; and He will give us the words to say. "It will not really be you speaking; it will be the Holy Spirit!!"

Praise the LORD! It is HIS story! May ALL Honor and Glory go to HIM!

Addendum: 6/7/2018 ~ "Say whatever is given you to say at that time, because it will not really be you speaking; it will be the Holy Spirit!!" As I read through my journals (in what I think is my final edit read-through), I often shake my head in wonder and think—where did that (the words I wrote) come from? I am so ordinary. I never went to college and I don't have any training (biblical or otherwise) whatsoever. I am often surprised by the words I wrote. I remember commenting to my daughter while writing my journals that it seemed really weird, because at times I was writing as if I was talking to someone. I knew it seemed strange—but I just kept on writing. At the time, I had NO idea my journals would someday become public. NONE! It can only be said that, "Say whatever is given you to say at that time, because it will not really be you speaking; it will be the Holy Spirit!!"
