Psalm 74

April 8, 2011

"Jesus, you're my firm foundation; I know I can stand secure... I put my hope in your Holy Word." (Listen here) That song has been running through my mind this morning. How very true. God's Word is true. Matthew 11:28-30 - "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light." So true.

Come - The first step. Realizing you need a Savior and surrendering everything to Him.
Give - God is the one who gives forgiveness, rest, peace, comfort, freedom. We have to let go.
Take - You have to believe God for what He says, totally trusting Him. God's agenda. Not ours.
Learn - What and who God is; His ways; His words; reading the Bible; learning from the Holy Spirit.
Rest - Totally God-given. There is nothing you can do to achieve it.
Easy and Light - If we do all the other steps, what He gives us to carry is easy and light.

Only God can bring about justice. It is so freeing to understand we have no responsibility in bringing about justice. It is God's and God's alone. Our responsibility is to come → give → take → learn → and then to rest.
