My heart is overflowing today with gladness and thankfulness for ALL God has done. We know so little, but what we do know brings us to our knees. I am so thankful and grateful for the way He has guided and protected me throughout my life.
Psalm 85:10 - "Love and truth belong to God's people; goodness and peace will be theirs." The NIV and KJV says that "righteousness and peace (have) kissed each other." What a descriptive way of showing what God provides to those who serve Him.
Psalm 85:12 - "The LORD will indeed give what is good..."
Romans 8:28 - "We know that in everything God works for the good of those who love him." There is a prerequisite there. An IF—Then. For all those who love Him. Those who understand that without God we are nothing and desire nothing but God. When the foundation is in place, THEN we can pray David's prayer found in Psalm 86:6–7 -"Lord, hear my prayer, and listen when I ask for mercy. I call to you in times of trouble, because you will answer me." Jeremiah 29:11–14 promises us that when we seek God and search for God with all our hearts we will find Him because He lets us find Him. BUT the opposite is true as well. Proverbs 1:24–32 talks about people who refuse to seek Him; people who would not follow His ways and refused to listen to Him. When disaster comes and they call out to him, he will not listen. He will not answer and you will not find him.
The choice is ours! What is it going to be?
LORD, there is no god like you. Only you are God. (You Are God Alone, from before time began, you were on the throne, you are God alone.) LORD, teach me what you want me to do and I will do it. LORD, teach me to respect you completely. LORD, my God, I will praise you with all my heart and I will honor your name forever. (NIV) 14 "The arrogant are attacking me..." Turn to me and have mercy. Give me, your servant, strength. Show me a sign of your goodness."
This is my prayer as well. First and foremost—YOU are God alone. Teach me your ways and I will do it. I will praise your name forever. Protect me from those who have falsely accused us. Turn to us. Give us strength. May we see your hand working in our lives.
God has shown us (and continues to show) many signs of His hand working in our lives. Many of them are included in this journal, but there were also many more. We are forever grateful to God and His mercies. No words of praise will ever be enough. Let my life be a testimony of HIS faithfulness. May all we do and say bring honor and glory to the one to whom it is due. ALL praise and ALL honor belong to the LORD God our father and to Jesus Christ His son. May your Holy Spirit continue to guide, direct and lead us for the rest of our lives. AMEN.
