Psalm 104

May 03, 2011

Tuesday – I'm sitting in the hospital with Dad. Mom took him to the doctor yesterday and on the way home got a phone call to go straight to the hospital. Dad is dying. I don't know if it will be hours, days, or weeks, but I don't think he is going to be able to recover. He is very jaundiced. Can't stay awake. Restless. Labored breathing, etc. We are waiting on the doctor to give us the results from the tests they've run. The confusion continues. He thinks he is in my brother's garage. Very restless. Mom is amazing. I am so grateful for my close relationship with Mom. I've learned more from her in these last months than all the other years put together. She is so kind, loving, generous, giving, and gentle. A wonderful wife and Mom.

Psalm 104 - Praise to God Who Made the World

"My whole being, praise the LORD, LORD my God you are very great."

When you stop and think, when you really stop and think about who God is: the creator of the moon, stars, universe, sun; the Creator of all things; who made man in His own image; then your response can't help but be the same as the Psalmist. "What is man?" Do we believe it or not? Why would we ever doubt His abilities, His faithfulness, His power, His sovereignty, His grace, etc. He is either God or He isn't. I choose to believe.

24 "LORD, you have made many things; with your wisdom you have made them all. The earth is  full of your riches."

33 "I will sing to the LORD all my life; I will sing praises to my God as long as I live. May my thoughts please him; I am happy in the LORD."

35 "My whole being, praise the LORD.  Praise the LORD."
