Psalm 113:1 – 115:18

May 10, 2011

First I have to write a little more about Psalms 112. In Jane's (Her Name Was Jane) Bible she has the following notes:

When you fear the LORD then there is no fear of or for:

1) Family (verse 2)
2) Money (verse 3)
3) Darkness (verse 4)
4) Change (verse 6)

He will have no fear.

Well said. Now on to Psalm 113–115.

Psalm 115 - Unceasing Praise to the One True God

Psalm 115:1 - "It doesn't belong to us, LORD. The glory belongs to you." (NCV) "Not to us, LORD, not to us, but to your name be the glory." To God be the glory for the things HE has done!

Psalm 115 goes on to talk about those who trust in any thing or any one other than God. Their faith is put into things that can't speak, see, hear, smell, feel, walk, instead of the God who made the eyes, ears, etc. Amazing how when your faith is in anything other than God you become like that "thing." You can no longer speak, see, hear, feel, or walk in the Truth. You become like the god or God you worship.

9 "...trust the LORD; he is your helper and protection."
10 "...trust the LORD; he is your helper and protection."
11 "You who respect the LORD should trust him; he is your helper and protection."
13 "The LORD will bless those who respect him, from the smallest to the greatest."
15 "May you be blessed by the LORD who made heaven and earth."
