Chapters 20–29: Warnings and Instructions
No one can say they have never done anything wrong, but God has made our ears to hear and our eyes to see and He does expect us to be able to discern between right and wrong. We can choose to seek forgiveness and follow His teachings. Those who live honest lives are a blessing to their children.
But, God hates it when people choose to follow their own selfish desires and take advantage of other people for their own gain.
Verse 10 - The Lord hates dishonest weights and measures.
Verse 14 - He hates it when a buyer tries to say what you have is no good and then brags about the "deal."
Verse 17 - Things you've gotten in underhanded ways may taste good at first but will end up like gravel in your mouth.
Verse 21 - An inheritance quickly taken will not be blessed in the end.
Verse 23 - The LORD hates dishonest weights and measures.
The LORD looks deep inside people and searches through their thoughts. (Verse 27) "Don't say, "I'll pay you back for the wrong you did." (Verse 22) "Wait for the LORD, and he will make things right."
I will—
Wait on the LORD—
HE WILL!!
