Following God's commands are like a lamp. Literally! His teachings are like a light, illuminating the darkness and showing us how to live. Listening to the correction that comes from God's commands helps us to have life, to truly live with peace, joy, and contentment.
We each have a choice. It's like I tell my Sunday School girls. How you choose to live your life is your choice. But the consequences of your choices—both the good and bad—impacts generations. There will be consequences. It is another IF—THEN.
Proverbs 6: 27-28 - "You cannot carry hot coals against your chest without burning your clothes, and you cannot walk on hot coals without burning your feet."
You cannot live your life doing the six things God hates and the seven things He cannot stand and not have consequences. You cannot! It's not that you will get zapped with lightning immediately. Life may go along smoothly for many years... but accountability will come. There will be consequences for the choices we make.
I choose to live my life in such a way that the consequences I pass down to the future generations will be God's blessings and not God's curses.
