This chapter talks about the importance of having wisdom and understanding. It's not enough to know, you must also do.
In order to stand strong, don't put yourself in situations where temptation can happen. The example this Proverb gives is a young man walking alone at night down the road where a prostitute lived. He put himself into a situation where he could fall victim to her ploys. Proverbs 7:23 - "Like a bird caught in a trap, he didn't know what he did would kill him." Something else I always tell my Sunday School girls. You don't know what you don't know.

"The world rams at your door; Jesus taps at your door. The voices scream for your allegiance; Jesus softly and tenderly requests it." ~ From In the Eye of the Storm by Max LucadoAddendum: Interesting to compare the description of the woman described in Proverbs 7 with the Good Wife described in Proverbs 31.
