Isaiah 24:1 – 27:13

July 29, 2011

"Oh LORD, you are my God." Isaiah 25:1 and Psalm 140:6. Everything comes after that statement. You are my God. The order is correct.

God
Me

*Isaiah 25:1–5 - "I honor you and praise you..." You have always done amazing things. You have always done what you said you would do, what you have planned. Our enemies strong walls are gone and will never to be built again. You protect the poor; you protect the helpless when they are in danger. You are like a shelter from storms; like shade that protects from the heat. The breath of the ruthless (NCV - cruel people) is like a rainstorm beating against the wall or like heat in the desert (relentless—something you can't get away from). BUT YOU GOD, stop their violent attacks. As a cloud cools a hot day (He has us covered), you silence the songs of those who have no mercy. Isaiah 25:8–9There will come a time when God wipes the tears from every face. Then people will say, "Our God is doing this! We have waited for him, and he has come to save us. This is the LORD. We waited for him, so we will rejoice and be happy when he saves us."

But there (like always) is a flip side. Blessings—verses—Curses. Protection—verses—Destruction. Isaiah 25:11 - "But God will bring down their pride despite the cleverness of their hands." (NIV and NCV)  Isaiah 26:10–11 - "Evil people (even though grace is shown) will not learn to do good even if you show them kindness. They will continue doing evil, even if they live in a good world; they just don't get it. LORD, you are ready to punish them but they don't see it. Show them (let them see) your love for your people, may they know that it is you that saves." Isaiah 27:11 -  But, some people (without understanding) refuse to understand, so God will not comfort them (no compassion) their maker will not be kind to them (show no favor).

If people could only understand. God gives true peace to those who depend on him (Isaiah 26:3); the path is level and smooth for those who are right with God (Isaiah 26:7); all our success is because of what HE has done (Isaiah 26:12); and if anyone comes to Him for safety and wants forgiveness, He will give them peace (Isaiah 27:5).

IF you haven't traveled down the path of deception for years, THEN the decision would be much easier. Repent quickly! Every step farther down the road of deception; every hardening of the heart; makes the return to "peace" with God that much harder.

Isaiah 27:5 - "But if anyone comes to me for safety and wants to make peace with me, he should come and make peace with me."

Addendum: 5/6/15 ~ *In my hand written journal I have written Psalm 25:1–5 as the reference for the verse I was writing. As I was recording this entry I wondered if I had made a mistake and if it should of said Isaiah 25:1–5.  So, I looked it up and yes, it should have said Isaiah. But then I wondered, what does Psalm 25:1–5 say?
"LORD, I give myself to you; my God, I trust you. Do not let me be disgraced, but those who sin without excuse will be disgraced. LORD, tell me your ways. Show me how to live. Guide me in your truth, and teach me, my God, my Savior. I trust you all day long."
I have portions of Psalm 25:1–5 underlined and highlighted in my Bible. In the margins I have written, "Our prayer these last two years.  We will continue to trust Him in "the storm."

Psalm 25:1–5 was the wrong reference but it was absolutely the right verses. It is how you have the strength to wait for Isaiah 25:1–5 to come true. The two years has become eight years—and we still trust Him.

Addendum #2: 5/9/18 ~ You just have to smile. The eight years has become eleven years. We could have never imagined this faith "storm" journey we are on! "I honor you and praise you..." The path has been long, but I wouldn't change one single thing. "Guide me in your truth, and teach me, my God, my Savior. I trust you all day long."

Addendum #3: 4/30/19 ~ Once again (I remember this happening in the weeks prior to my Dad's death in 2011) the words from the song "The Potter's Hand" has incessantly been running through my mind day and night for the past week. It has the same message as Isaiah 25:1–5.  You can listen to it here.
