Isaiah 42:1 – 43:28 (Continued)

August 24, 2011

The Lord—He is the One!

He is the One who:
  • made a road through the sea
  • made a path through the rough waters
  • defeated the enemy
  • destroyed "as a flame is put out"
The LORD says, "Forget what happened before, and do not think about the past. Look at the new things I am going to do. It is already happening. Don't you see it?"

God has the power to use whatever He wants, however He wants. Isaiah 43:20 talks about making a river in the dry land. He says the same thing in Isaiah 41:18–19. He will make rivers flow on dry hills... the desert will change into a lake of water. God will do the seemingly impossible for His children. But He will also do the opposite if need be to try and get His children to return to Him.  Isaiah 42:15 - "I will destroy the hills and mountains and dry up all their plants. I will make the rivers dry land and dry up the pools of water." God pursues us. He goes to great lengths to get our attention and devotion. Some will turn to Him ... some won't. I never want to be the person God describes in Isaiah 43:24 - "(you) weighed me down with your many sins; you have made me tired of your many wrongs."

I choose to follow. I choose to trust. I choose to obey. I choose to surrender.

Addendum:  5/20/15 ~ Isaiah 42:3–4 - "He will truly bring justice... people far away will trust his teachings." Isaiah 42:8 - "I am the LORD. That is my name. I will not give my glory to another; I will not let idols take the praise that should be mine." Isaiah 42:8–9 - "The things I said would happen have happened, and now I tell you about new things. Before those things happen, I tell you about them."

God sent us HIS messages through the most unlikely of sources. (Her Name Was Jane). He must get the honor and glory for all HE has done. We must tell HIS story.
