Genesis 25:19–34

December 14, 2009

It was God's will (and His stated promise) that Abraham would have many descendants and that those descendants would come from Isaac. Yet Isaac and Rebecca (the very woman God chose for Isaac) could not have children.

Verse 21 - It was God's will YET it took Isaac's prayers before it could happen.

After we have discerned what God's will is, we must remain faithful in prayer in order to see it accomplished. God did not create us as robots or puppets on a string. It is absolutely necessary for us to be in fervent prayer for God's perfect will to be accomplished in our lives.

Esau's birthright meant little to him. It was not cherished and Esau quickly and easily sold it for temporary comfort. When his temporary comfort was satisfied then he became angry. Anger is a cancer of the soul.  It ravages your mind, body, and soul.

IF—(when) you stay focused on God (who He is and what He has done for you), THEN—it is impossible to remain angry and hurt (whether real or perceived) over what someone else has done to you.

Addendum:  9/3/13 ~ You have to remain focused on the promise no matter what your present circumstances may look like.

Addendum #2:  Today is 12/13/13 and I am proofreading my writings. What I wrote on 9/3/13 – "You have to remain focused on the promise no matter what your present circumstances may look like," is an appropriate reminder for today. How much longer is "the storm" going to last? How much more mire are we going to have to tread through? When will enough be enough? How long Lord? How long?

Here is what I know to be absolute TRUTH—God IS in control and His promises ARE true. We will wait upon the LORD.
