Genesis 31:1 – 33:20

December 19–23, 2009

Wow! What chapters! It has taken me awhile to read and process all that is contained in these verses. Where to begin?

Genesis 31:2–3 - Jacob noticed Laban had changed and God told him to GO—with the promise that He would be with him.

Genesis 31:4–6 - "...is not as friendly with me as he used to be ... but the God of my father has been with me ... I have worked as hard as I could ... but he cheated me and changed my pay ten times ... but God has not allowed your father to harm me."

Verse 12 - I (God) have seen...
Verse 13 - I am the God...
Verse 13 - Now I want you to leave...
Verse 16 - Do whatever God has told you to do...

I remember the feelings we felt when we first began to notice there were storm clouds brewing on the horizon. It was a very trying and unsettling time as we wondered what our future held. As we began to see more clearly, we knew God was telling us it was time for us to—GO.

When God says GO—then GO! Do not delay. Lean upon Him. Proverbs 3:6 - "In all thy ways acknowledge Him and He WILL direct your paths." We need to learn to keep our hands off. God does not need our help. We can trust Him because He is trustworthy.

Addendum: I love a quote a friend sent to me:
"Don't worry about the people God removed from your life. He heard conversations you didn't, saw things you couldn't, and made moves you wouldn't."
So true. God knew what we didn't know, and it was time to— GO.
