John 16:4b–33

I'd Rather Have Jesus

I'd rather have Jesus than silver or gold;
I'd rather be his than have riches untold;
I'd rather have Jesus than houses or lands;
I'd rather be led by His nail-pierced hand.

I'd rather have Jesus than men's applause;
I'd rather be faithful to His dear cause;
I'd rather have Jesus than worldwide fame;
I'd rather be true to His holy name.

Than to be the King of a vast domain
And be held in sin's dread sway;
I'd rather have Jesus than anything
This world afford today.

This was the song running through my mind this morning while awakening. (Listen to it here.)

Two days ago (Tuesday, November 6th) I awakened to this song running through my subconsciousness:

Blessed Be the Name

All praise to Him who reigns above,
In majesty supreme,
Who gave His son for man to die,
That He might man redeem.

His name above all names shall stand,
Exalted more and more,
At God the Father's own right hand,
Where angel hosts adore.

Redeemer, Savior, Friend of man,
Once ruined by the fall,
Thou hast devised salvation's plan
For thou hast died for all.

His name shall be the Counselor,
The mighty Prince of Peace,
Of all earth's kingdoms Conqueror,
Whose reign will never cease.

Chorus:  Blessed be the name, Blessed be the name, Blessed be the name of the LORD!  Blessed be the name, Blessed be the name, Blessed be he name of the LORD!

Listen to it here.
