He knows our name. He knows where we are. He knows our needs. When we seek Him, He comes to us.
Zacchaeus "wanted to see who Jesus was." He did whatever was necessary in order to see Jesus. He put forth the effort it took. Jesus knew someone was seeking Him, so He went to where Zacchaeus was. He called him by name and answered his need. Jesus never turns away a seeking heart. He draws us to Him, and He answers our need. Luke 19:10 - "The Son of Man came to find lost people and save them." But, He won't force us. He spoke truth to the Pharisees and Sadducees and they wouldn't listen. Zacchaeus wanted to see Jesus, and God met him where he was and answered his need.
Jesus wept. The shortest verse in the Bible. He wept because Lazarus had died.Jesus has compassion. He knew He was going to raise him from the dead and He "was glad for your sakes" that He didn't arrive earlier. It was a teachable moment, but He still had compassion. Here in Luke 19 we see where Jesus wept again. This time He wept for the city of Jerusalem. Luke 19:42 - "I wish you knew today what would bring you peace..." He knew what was going to happen to Jerusalem because of their disobedience—and Jesus wept.
We are the temples of Christ. How He must weep when He sees the people who are called by His name reject Him by refusing to seek Him or surrender to Him. Luke 19:43 - "The time is coming when your enemies will build a wall around you and will hold you in all sides."
God never turns away a seeking heart. Never! Turn!! Change your heart and lives! Seek Him! Only!
