Yesterday (Sunday) we had three other couples over for dinner. What actually happened was one of the ladies decided to invite the others to come to our house for dinner. She thought we all should get to know each other—and we were glad to do it. One problem. Our grandson had a championship soccer game while our guests were at the house. So, we left for an hour to watch him. (They won! We are so proud of him. He did a great job and had so much fun!) Nothing like leaving your guests alone for an hour!! I had met the ladies before but had never met their husbands. This was the first time the guys had met each other. We had a wonderful time and had the opportunity to share with them what God has done in our lives and what we have learned these past years.
Back in August, I had the opportunity to share Jane's (Her Name Was Jane) story with these same ladies. What I didn't know was that one of the ladies was gripped with a strong conviction that this story must be told. I had no idea. We learned yesterday that she has been praying about this and has even approached people about me sharing this with different groups. I was totally shocked. I have no idea if anything will come of it or not. All I know is that we are the recipients of a Blessed Event and it cannot be squandered.
We will not go out and push our story on anyone. We have always believed that when God is ready for us to tell the story HE will open the doors for the method and timing. We were just so surprised at what she is doing. Is this part of the NEW BEGINNING? During the night I again promised God my availability for whatever He wants me to do. This morning, after my shower, I opened the closet door to pick out a shirt when I realized a song was running through my mind, an old hymn I haven't heard in years. The only words I could remember was "All the way my Savior leads me." I googled the words to find the hymn. It was written by Frances J. Crosby

All the Way My Savior Leads Me
All the way my Savior leads me,
What have I to ask beside?
Can I doubt His tender mercy,
Who through life has been my Guide?
Heav'nly peace, divinest comfort,
Here by faith in Him to dwell!
For I know, whate'er befall me,
Jesus doeth all things well;
For I know, whate'er befall me,
Jesus doeth all things well.
All the way my Savior leads me,
Cheers each winding path I tread,
Gives me grace for every trial,
Feeds me with the living Bread.
Though my weary steps may falter,
And my soul athirst may be,
Gushing from the Rock before me,
Lo! A spring of joy I see.
Gushing from the Rock before me,
Lo! A spring of joy I see.
All the way my Savior leads me,
Oh, the fullness of His love!
Perfect rest to me is promised
In my Father's house above.
When my spirit, clothed immortal,
Wings it flight to realms of day
This my song through endless ages:
Jesus led me all the way;
This my song through endless ages:
Jesus led me all the way.
Wherever HE leads—I WILL FOLLOW!
Listen to All the Way My Savior Leads Me here.
Addendum: It was indeed part of the NEW BEGINNING. "We have always believed that when God is ready for us to tell the story HE will open the doors for the method and timing." We are to tell HIS story. We had no idea, but God was preparing us.
LORD – What Am I to Do?;
The LORD Answers!;
I Didn't Know—BUT GOD DID!!
